Project Publicity Meeting
13 December 2017 - Boğaziçi University Archives and Documentation Center completed the Project titled “Histories of Science, Culture and Education in İstanbul Through Personal Archives” supported by İstanbul Development Agency’s "Innovative and Creative İstanbul Financial Support Program" between 15 December 2016- 14 December 2017.
5 December 2017 - İstanbul Medeniyet University, Department of Information and Document Management students along with two of their professors, Prof. Dr. Bilgin Aydın and Assoc. Prof. Dr Didar Bayır, visited our center. We introcuded our center to our student friends and offered detailed information on the collections and our archive system.
Stavros Anestidis's Talk
16 November 2017 - Since 2002, Anestidis works as the assistant manager at the Asia Minor Research Center. In his talk, he focused on the history of Asia Minor Research Center and the processes of collecting, cataloging and opening to the researchers the archival documents on the Rum populations of İstanbul and Anatolia.
20 October 2017 - Our Center have organized a conference titled “Archives and Cultural Heritage in the Digital Age” in Albert Long Hall (South Campus) at Boğaziçi University. The conference, bringing together participants from different disciplines and fields of specializations, opened to discussion the latest developments in Turkey in the areas of archival work and digitization.
5 Temmuz 2017 - Özge B. Calafato, project manager at Akkasah Center for Photography, an organization which is associated with New York University and is located at Abu Dhabi, paid a visit to our center and gave a presentation on “Digitization, Archiving and Preserving Images”. She informed us about how they create collections and shared technical information on the processes of cataloging and digitization. 21 Haziran 2017 - We met with the partner organizations in our project “Histories of Science, Culture and Education in İstanbul Through Personal Archives” which is supported by the İstanbul Development Agency (İSTKA). In the meeting we have shared information pertaining to the work we have done between the dates 15 December 2016 and 15 June 2017 with the representatives of Koç University, Kadir Has University and SALT Research. We also discussed the work schedule for the remaining six months.
53rd Library Week
29 Mart 2017 - In the context of the 53rd Library Week, Boğaziçi University, Koç University, İstanbul Şehir University and Sismanoglio Megaro Library came together to convey their work on private archives held at these institutions.
